I have worked with Randall Echols, President of Advanced Powder Solutions (APS) for several years. His exceptional business development skills have taken APS from several successful SBIRs with multiple government agencies through a Mentor-Protege relationship with a large defense prime contractor. His strong marketing skills have led to APS successfully commercializing the APS material and technology in the oil and gas industry. Randall's efforts have increased APS's production capacity, which has led to APS increasing its employee numbers and introducing additional technical jobs into the local community. Randall not only executes successful business development, but mentors other entrepreneurs to transfer his knowledge to the next generation of small business owners.
I have been working with Randall Echols for the past year. He has done a terrific job bringing APS's material to the TRL 6. This was capped with a successful launch of their beryllium replacement material on 28 June 2008 from Wallops Island. In addition, Randall has been the key to the establishment of a mentor/protege relationship between APS and Raytheon Missile Systems. The track that APS has taken is a template for other small businesse.
